Back in the Pit: Three Pillars, Panelist's Choice

August 5, 2026 Pillar I: Veterans Care, Rights, and Dignity

Share

No guest and no script. Steph Money and John Moses took apart the Take Care of America's Veterans Act and its Section 108 cuts to tinnitus and sleep apnea ratings, the split between the American Legion and the VFW, and the discharge petition for the Major Richard Star Act sitting three signatures short. They also covered the SAVE Act riding on the FY27 NDAA and the 239 deported veterans counted by the National Immigration Forum.

Show notes

The Smoke Pit is back at the table after a week away, and everybody brought something. No guest, no script, no set agenda beyond the structure that holds the whole thing together. Each panelist brings a topic. We work through them pillar by pillar and talk them out, live.

Pillar I, Veterans Care, Rights, and Dignity. Pillar II, Democracy, Peace, and Constitutional Duty. Pillar III, No Veteran Left Behind. Three segments, one table, whatever the panel walked in with.

This is the format the show runs when the news does not pick the topic for us. It moves fast, it goes where the panel takes it, and it covers more ground in an hour than a booked interview usually does.

Got something you want the panel to take on? Submit your question before the show at 50501vets.com/ask and we will work it into the table.
