So Long, and Thanks for All the Spin
Aired live on August 19, 2026.
The panel marked Karoline Leavitt's exit from the White House podium by playing her clips and answering them one at a time, from the "your mom" reply to a reporter, to calling reporters left wing hacks, to her claim that consumers do not pay tariffs. Katie Chorbak and Brit Robinson tied it to Florida primary turnout near 20 to 25 percent and to a gang scorecard that counts a Michael Jordan hoodie as evidence.
Show notes
Karoline Leavitt is out at the end of the month. The youngest White House press secretary in history announced her departure on August 12 and moves to an outside advisory role. The podium gets a new occupant. The job stays the same.
We are not here to litigate one person's tenure. We are here to ask what the briefing room is actually for, whether it still does that, and what changes when the nameplate changes. Every administration gets a spokesperson. The public gets one room where somebody has to answer. That room belongs to the taxpayer, not the occupant.
The panel walks the record, the fact-checks, and the running question every veteran should care about: when this government makes a claim about your benefits, your deployment, or your care, who is on the hook for whether it was true.
Then we do what we do. There is a farewell in here somewhere.
